Trend: Girls Posting "Am I Ugly/Pretty?" Videos on YouTube

The Week magazine reports on a growing trend that some find disturbing of young teen and tweens, mostly girls, posting videos of themselves on YouTube and asking commentators either "Am I ugly?" or "Am I pretty?" While some people give kind responses, this is the Internet, so many are cruel or even racist, with Britain's Daily Mail writing that they are, quote, "either over-the-top compliments, suggesting sex, or reflecting a level of animosity that is stunningly harsh."
